These edgings exist in 2 versions; you can download one, or both, it's up to you. One lets your Sims walking through it (the edging is low, it's physically very coherent!), the other blocks your Sims' route, which is also coherent if you want to protect your garden or your flowerbed! You can also combine both, using the "block-the-way" around a garden, except at few places where you can use the "walk through". It's actually what I'm doing on my RL life garden; we have a low edging, and I always walk through at the same places: where there's a tiny path between tomatoes, for example.
